About Alice
I grew up in rural Mid Wales with my sister and three brothers where most of our childhood was spent outdoors.
We had many adventures and countless hours were spent exploring the beautiful Welsh hills and the countryside surrounding our little farmhouse. We made dens, played on the hay carts, paddled and fished in the rivers and streams, climbed trees and walked up mountains and waterfalls.
These memories of my childhood have inspired and infused my artwork, as well as the huge assortment of animals we grew up alongside. From fox cubs and badgers, to parrots, pigs and ponies, cows, sheep and goats and numerous dogs and cats, all were welcomed into the family.
Another huge inspiration for my artwork is my mother. I loved to paint her together with her favourite animal friends and it always brought a big smile to her face when she saw the pictures. Her reactions and encouragement are what motivated me to keep painting, and to reach more people who, I hope, will also enjoy my illustrations.
I love to find humour in everyday life and I try to capture this both in my own projects and in my commissioned artwork. I enjoy making people smile with my illustrations and take pleasure in including personal details that make them truly unique.
If you feel like my ethos and artwork would suit an idea or project that you have in mind, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
